Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness)
in cats
Very rare adverse reactions that have been reported after use include: transient skin reactions at the application site (flaking, local hair loss, itching, redness) as well as general itching or hair loss. After administration, excessive salivation, reversible nervous signs (increased sensitivity to stimulation, depression, other nervous signs), or vomiting have also been observed.
The frequency of adverse reactions should be classified according to the following groups:
- Very frequently (more than 1 animal for every 10 animals treated presents adverse reactions)
- Frequently (more than 1 but less than 10 animals per 100 animals treated)
- Infrequently (more than 1 but less than 10 animals per 1,000 animals treated)
- Rarely (more than 1 but less than 10 animals per 10,000 animals treated)
- On very rare occasions (less than 1 animal per 10,000 animals treated, including isolated cases).
In case of licking at the point of application, a brief period of excessive salivation may be observed, mainly due to the nature of the excipient.
Do not overdose.

Dosage and route of administration
Route of administration and dose:
spot anointing
One 0.5 ml pipette per cat corresponds to the minimum recommended dose of 5 mg/kg fipronil and 6 mg/kg (S)-methoprene, by topical application to the skin.
In the absence of safety studies, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
One 0.5 ml pipette per ferret corresponds to a dose of 50 mg fipronil and 60 mg (S)-methoprene per ferret, by topical application to the skin.
The minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
Administration method:
Hold the pipet in an upright position. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents are in the main part of the pipette. Open the tip. Part the animal's fur on the back, at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette several times until its contents are completely emptied directly onto the skin in a single point.
Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), if necessary
The risk of adverse reactions may be increased when overdosed (see section 4.6).
in cats
No adverse reactions have been observed in safety studies conducted in the target species, in cats and kittens 8 weeks of age and older and weighing approximately 1 kg treated once monthly at five times the recommended dose for 6 consecutive months. After treatment itching may appear.
The application of an overdose of the veterinary medicinal product may cause a sticky appearance of the hair at the point of application. However, should this occur, it will disappear within 24 hours after treatment.
in ferrets
In ferrets 6 months of age and older and treated once every 2 weeks for 4 treatments at five times the recommended dose, loss of body weight was observed in some animals.
