Effinol is a spray treatment used to prevent flea and tick infestations. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy to control flea allergy dermatitis. Treatment of biting lice infestations in dogs and cats.
Composed of Fipronil, it is an insecticide and acaricide of the phenylprazole family. It works by inhibiting the GABA complex, binding to the chloride channel, thus blocking the pre- and post-synaptic transfer of chloride ions across cell membranes. This generates an uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and the death of insects and mites.
