Dogs.
4.2 Indications for use, specifying the target species
Treatment of flea infestations in dogs (Ctenocephalides felis and C. canis) for at least 5 weeks.
Treatment of tick infestations in dogs (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). One treatment kills ticks for at least a month.
Fleas and ticks must attach to the host and start feeding to be exposed to the active substance.
4.3 Contraindications
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
4.4 Special warnings for each target species
Parasites need to start feeding once attached to the host to become exposed to afoxolaner; therefore, the risk of transmission of parasite-borne diseases cannot be ruled out.
When treating parasite infestations, all animals in contact should be treated with an appropriate veterinary medicinal product at the same time.
All stages of fleas can infest your dog's bedding and common sleeping areas such as carpets and furniture. In case of massive flea infestation and at the beginning of control measures, these areas should be treated with a suitable environmental product and then regularly vacuumed.
4.5 Special precautions for use
Special precautions for use in animals
In the absence of available data, the veterinarian should be consulted before treating puppies less than 8 weeks of age and/or dogs weighing less than 2 kg.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals
To prevent children from gaining access to the veterinary medicinal product, remove the chewable tablets from the blister one at a time. Keep the blister with the remaining chewable tablets in the box.

Neurological signs (seizures, ataxia, and muscle tremors), pruritus, lethargy, or anorexia, and mild gastrointestinal reactions (vomiting, diarrhea) have been reported very rarely. Most of the adverse reactions were self-limited and of short duration.
