Properties and indications for use
The use of VISVITAE 15 GR for the treatment of QSC and corneal ulcers has proven to be effective, since vitamin A slows down the evolution of changes in the corneoconjunctival surface derived from squamous metaplasia and improves the quality of cell secretion. calciformes, reducing the clinical signs of the disease.
Another disorder that can benefit from the use of topical vitamin A, as a component of Viscitae, is that it favors the re-epithelialization process that occurs after corneal injury.
The function of topical vitamin A for ophthalmic use, in cases of corneal re-epithelialization, is to improve the production of cell matrix components, such as type I collagen and fibroblasts. There are studies that show that the healing recovery of corneal wounds improves after its application.
It has also been shown that after the use of ophthalmic Vitamin A, in chronic pathologies such as glaucoma, the adverse effects on the ocular surface are reduced, increasing the density of goblet cells (increases the production of mucus), reducing toxicity to the conjunctiva caused by the pathological process itself. In addition, when performing the Schirmer test, we observed more tear production. All this means that the use of Visvitae should be considered in prolonged glaucoma treatments.
Another property of VISVITAE 15 GR as an ocular moisturizer for cases of KCS is that vitamin A in the form of retinol palmitate is fat-soluble, thus reducing the evaporation of this product in gel form.
Taking into account all the above aspects, there is no doubt that the topical use of Visvitae in ophthalmological patients can provide important benefits, maintaining a tear film that remains longer on the ocular surface thanks to hyaluronic acid associated with retinol palmitate, maintaining the moist eye, in addition to relieving the discomfort and itching inherent to QCS and improving the response to other treatments, especially in cases in which corneal epithelial integrity is affected due to pathologies such as QCS or corneal ulcers.
How to use
Press the container. Apply 1 or 2 drops of VISVITAE 15 GR on the eye.
